Quality control

Quality Development

The continuous improvement of the quality of our work is a shared goal for all educators. Our aim is to impress and inspire children and families with the best possible quality of our work.

We plan and describe our work, implement it accordingly, and reflect on it critically. The educators plan measures for change whenever necessary and put them into action.

We approach suggestions and constructive criticism openly to further develop the quality of our work.

Regular team supervision sessions and parent surveys take place at regular intervals.

The Berlin Educational Program

We are convinced that a "special" quality is lived in our parent initiative daycare. The Berlin Educational Program forms the foundation of our pedagogical work. It outlines the underlying understanding of education, the role of professionals, the educational areas, as well as the collaboration with parents, teamwork, and the design of transitions. The Berlin Educational Program is also reflected in our daycare concept.

Internal Evaluation

In the internal evaluation, the educators reflect on their own work to assess how well it aligns with the Berlin Educational Program. We evaluate one to two areas of focus annually. The results are presented to the parents either in writing or during a parents' evening. On the so-called team training days, the daycare is closed.

3

External Evaluation

Another mandatory tool for quality assurance and development is external evaluation. The purpose of the external evaluation is to provide the daycare with an expert external assessment of the quality achieved, to acknowledge the quality that has been reached so far, to identify the current status and necessary areas for development through constructive evaluation, and to offer concrete recommendations for further quality development.

Every daycare in Berlin is evaluated on the Berlin Educational Program at least every five years by a provider recognized by the Senate Department for Education, Youth, and Family.

Our daycare was evaluated in 2013 by ektimo®, in 2018 and 2023 by PädQUIS® gGmbH. The next external evaluation will take place in 2028.

The language learning diary

In addition to the Berlin Educational Program, the language learning diary (which is supplemented by a portfolio in our case) is an important tool for supporting and documenting the development of the children. It is maintained for each child and is given to the child and their family at the end of their time in daycare (parts of it must be shared with the future primary school in advance with the parents' consent).
